Termination of Hao Mart’s Taste Orchard Lease

The lease agreement for Taste Orchard, operated by Hao Mart, has been terminated by its landlord, OG, with the premises set to be vacated by December 31. This decision has left many tenants, some with as much as two years remaining on their leases, taken by surprise.

According to The Business Times, the issue emerged after the food-focused mall opened less than two years ago. Tenants have expressed their shock, with some organizing a WhatsApp group to seek legal advice and understand their rights.

One tenant disclosed that the sudden vacancy announcement left them scrambling for options, having invested thousands in renovations. With the upcoming vacancy, it highlights the concerns regarding tenant retention and management stability.

The OG Orchard Public building was rebranded as Taste Orchard in February 2024, featuring a culinary hub and various food offerings. Now, all tenants are being called upon to vacate the premises, including major brand outlets that have already ceased operations.
